The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2021 will be the first major cricket tournament that will be played in India amidst the coronavirus pandemic. No tournaments or international series have taken place in India ever since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. After the dates and venues were announced about the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the sides have announced their 20-man squad. There are some experienced faces that have represented India in the past while there are some fresh faces in the sides.
