On Thursday, TV actor Ravi Bhatia, best known for his role in serial ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’, revealed that he had called it quits with Indonesian air hostess Yulida Handayani with whom he tied the knot in August 2016.
Calling his marriage with Yulida three ago a ‘hasty decision’, Ravi revealed that the two were in a relationship and since Yulida got pregnant, they decided to marry each other.
“When we got married, she was three months pregnant. Marriage is a big decision and it needs to be given a serious thought, Ravi told the Times of India in an exclusive interview.
During his interaction with the publication, Ravi disclosed that Yulida, whom he met during his brief acting stint in Indonesia, didn’t feel at home in Mumbai. He stated that cultural difference was one of the many reasons the two decided to call it quits.
Ravi also confessed that because he was too busy pursuing his career he couldn’t give Yulida the time she deserved and she would often feel lonely and missed her home. Therefore, the couple decided that they ‘should part ways amicably and live happy lives’.
The custody of their three-year-old son is with Yulida. “The best part of our relationship was our son and I miss him very much. I know she will take good care of him, so it was best that he grows up with her. Every night when I go to sleep, I feel his presence by my side. He has a bright future ahead and I will fulfil all my responsibilities that I have towards him.” Ravi said.
For the unversed, Ravi shot to fame for his portrayal of Salim in Zee TV’s Jodha Akbar. He is also known for being a contestant in the show Dadagiri, where he was involved in a physical altercation. He has starred in several serials such as ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’, ‘Hamaari Beti Raaj Karegi’, ‘Gara Gara Duyung’ to name a few.
Ravi has also done two web series namely ‘Shukla’ and ‘Halala’.
